We had fun his morning making Easter Biscuits and choosing which cutter shapes to use. We used mixed spice to flavour our them which some of us thought smelt nice. They looked delicious when they came out of the oven. You can find the receipe on our Facebook page.
Let's get building...
This week the children have continued with their building theme. The children have made tall towers often needing support from adults to make the towers as tall as we can and they have also used the step ladder to make their towers taller. We have used big bricks, small bricks and our placement student Hannah as made the 3 little pigs house's from big cardboard boxes.
In the garden the children have been making mud pies in the sunshine and using water to mark make on the building walls and paths. What a difference some sunshine makes!!
Next week we have our Easter bonnet making and parade, along with an Easter egg hunt in the garden.
Cheesy Rice Krispie Biscuits
Cheesey Rice Krispies biscuits helped us use up some ingredients left over from our Big Breakfast on Saturday. The recipe was all weighed out in cups so the children had to think how high to fill it to make it half a cup full. There was lots of scrunching and rolling practice today with some very tasty looking biscuits coming out of the oven.
You can find the recipe on our Facebook page

What have we been upto over the past weeks???
The children have been busy in outdoor adventure with Jon making bug house's and Quesada's on the fire pit. Inside we have been baking coconut and cherry cake, mixing apple juice and sparkling water to make 'fizzy apple'. We have also been printing with fruit and vegetables and making huge towers with the big bricks in the garden.
This weeks Bake!
Today we made fruity, nutty, seedy, oaty cookies that are packed full of good energy ingredients. The children enjoyed getting stuck in with squeezing the honey, and tasting or smelling each ingredient as they mixed them in. The recipe and photos can be found on our Facebook page.
Outdoor Adventure's
We have continue with Jon and our Outdoor adventures sessions on a weekly basis again this Pre-school year. The children access either an hour's session each week or a longer 2 hour session. During their Outdoor Adventures this year the children have explored mini beast's, made foot prints in clay, recorded that birds that they have seen in the garden and went on a bear hunt. The children have also experienced popping pop corn over a lighted fire - all highly supervised, whittled wood using a vegetable peeler, and made the most of what the weather has to offer them, from frosty days, rainy days and our favourite sunny days.
More Yummy Baking
We've chopped, weighed, cracked, whisked and dolloped this morning making some delicious apple and cinnamon muffins.
Cheese Scones
This week we have made cheese scones with Jo, looked for bugs and leaves in the garden with Jon and Outdoor Adventures. We have also been experimenting in making our own play dough - some children made 'pizza' with their dough! We have also been practicing our songs for next weeks Harvest Service...
Outdoor Adventures
This week in Outdoor Adventures the weather was a little bit wet, but, that didn't stop the children having a great time with Jon. There were bug finger puppets and the children made hedgehogs with clay and sticks that they found in the garden.
